The Border Hardwood group of companies is a leading West Midlands’ oak importer.

The Role – Graduate Marketing Officer
To support their exciting growth plans, the Border Hardwood group is looking to establish a marketing and communications function and wishes to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Graduate Marketing Officer to lead the project. The position is based in Wem, near Shrewsbury. Candidates must be prepared to relocate or travel to Wem daily.

Skills and Qualifications Required:
With a proven understanding of market research, data analysis and developing effective B2B marketing and communications strategies, you will be able to use offline and digital media tools to develop useable market intelligence and to create strategies and tactical plans that can achieve financial targets.  The role will require SEO and website content editing skills/experience.

You will be qualified to degree level in Marketing, Business or other related disciplines, with a good understanding of Microsoft Office applications.

Being a confident communicator with highly developed interpersonal, presentational and networking skills, you will be able to liaise with a diverse client group in order to raise awareness for the company’s strengths, influence customer purchasing decisions and build sustainable relationships. You will bring strong writing skills and be prepared to take responsibility for writing PR, press releases, website content and promotional literature.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join an ambitious organisation and lead a business critical project that will help shape the future direction of the organisation. The role will be mentored until the end of October 2018 by an experienced academic from the University of Wolverhampton, making this an outstanding opportunity for a new graduate or one with 1-4 years’ experience. Although initially a 12 month contract, there is a very real expectation that this will become a permanent role.
